    Call For Papers - CFP

Teachers, scholars, professors and professionals from more than 30 nations will meet in Rome, Italy, 4-6 December 2014, to discuss this year's theme:

"Communities in Contrast: Finding the Common Ground"

Too often people focus on difference. It is, however, in our commonality where we find resolution and understanding. Our direction this year will give special attention and emphasis to how we build community through similarity.

We will explore ways that allow individuals to develop unity while still maintaining a sense of personal and cultural identity.

Each year the congress attracts about 100 persons from more than three dozen countries. The major focus of the upcoming meeting will be on new practices that create and develop a multicultural approach to learning and living. There will be a welcome and keynote address followed by two full days of sessions and panels on 4-5 December. A special half-day session will be conducted on Saturday morning, 6 December, to accommodate those who cannot attend during the week.

Approximately 55 individual presentations will be scheduled for the 13th Annual Worldwide Forum on Education and Culture. To submit an abstract or to participate, please see the Registration page for complete details. The deadline for consideration of all abstracts is 26 May 2014.

    ABOUT US

In 2002, the Worldwide Forum on Education and Culture hosted its first meeting at John Cabot University in Rome. With a focus on improving education throughout the world, 30 professors from five countries met to exchange ideas and perspectives on diverse methods of education. Since that time, the Worldwide Forum has grown to include dozens of scholars and professionals representing 28 nations.

Four years ago, the Worldwide Forum released its first volume of work under the title Education Landscapes in the 21st Century: Cross-Cultural Challenges and Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives. This 450-page book, which contains highlights from the first six years of the organization’s proceedings, was published by Cambridge Scholars Press in the United Kingdom. A second volume, Global Encounters: Pedagogical Paradigms and Educational Practices, was published two years ago.
