    Call For Papers - CFP

The Asian Development Bank Institute, in collaboration with China and the World Economy, of the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, invites submission of unpublished papers on the subject of ”The Impacts of a Possible Growth Slowdown in the PRC on Asia”. The experience of Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taipei,China raises the question of whether the PRC’s economy has reached a stage where its medium or long-run growth is starting to slow down significantly. If so, this will have significant implications for growth, trade and investment of other economies.

We are looking for original research papers related to, although not limited to, the following topics:

?Factors explaining the long-term growth slowdown of major advanced economies, including, but not limited to, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taipei,China, including convergence, population aging, structural distortions, trade competitiveness and globalization, drawing implications for the PRC.

?Forces explaining the past growth and current slowdown of the Chinese economy.

?Quantifying the impacts of slower Chinese growth on growth, trade, investment and employment in other Asian economies.

?Analyses of policy measures that could mitigate the PRC’s slowdown and its impacts on other economies, including assessment of the “one-belt-one-road” initiative by the PRC.

ADBI will meet the travel and accommodation costs of one author per paper. Accepted papers will be considered for publication as ADBI Working Papers and inclusion in a special issue of China & World Economy and/or in a book volume.

Timeframes and Submission Procedure: Contributors should submit their draft papers or substantial abstracts to pmorganatadbi.org by 30 September 2015 at the latest, and completed papers by 15 November 2015.
