The conference aims at facilitating multidisciplinary research on developing country issues, stimulating collaborations between developing country researchers and their counterparts from the developed world, broadening and deepening global understanding of the various contextual factors influencing development, and advancing appropriate solutions to development challenges within this context.There have so far been few platforms on which developing country scholars, practitioners and students have been able to engage and deepen their understanding of those key context-specific factors that could enable or inhibit meaningful and sustainable developmental progress. The need for such a platform has become even greater with the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that provide all actors with the kind of targets that they, in partnership, need to work towards.The conference will bring together global expertise on issues that reflect the contextual distinctiveness of the challenges in developing world - issues that should inform the direction of efforts towards ensuring that the SDG can be attained.1.2 RiD 2016 Conference ThemeThe 2016 conference will focus on the identification of various key contextual issues and so expand the common knowledge base from which strategic partnerships could be forged and collaborative efforts enhanced.Subsequent conferences will build on this base through ongoing empirical research that supports the emergence of appropriate concepts, theories and practices for attainment of the SDGs within the developing country context.1.3 Outline of RiD 2016 Conference ProgrammeThe first two days will include presentations by keynote speakers (in plenary sessions) and presentations of selected research papers in the following 8 conference tracks:Conference TracksTrack 1: Entrepreneurship and Business ManagementTrack 2: Economics, Money, Banking and Finance, and AccountingTrack 3: ICTs, e-business, Mobile Computing, and EducationalTrack 4: Agriculture, Agribusiness, Food Production and Safety, and TourismTrack 5: Mining and Energy, Engineering and Local Adaptations,Track 6: Policy, Regulation, Governance, Security and Conflict ResolutionTrack 7: Environmental and Public Health, and NutritionTrack 8: Research Philosophy, Methodology and ApplicationPapers that fall in other related categories are also welcome.The third day will include:1. Separate half-day workshops for Masters and PhD students, and2.
