For work-in-progress research papers, more emphasis will be placed on novelty and the potential of the new idea than on technical rigor and experimental results. Industry and tool papers will be judged on their relevance, usefulness, and results. Suitability for demonstration and availability will also be considered for tool papers.LOCATIONPPPJ '16 will be part of the MANAGED LANGUAGES & RUNTIME WEEK 2016, a premier forum for presenting and discussing innovations and breakthroughs in the area of programming languages and runtime systems.Managed Languages & Runtimes Week '16 features three international academic and industry venues for the first time:- PPPJ '16 - 13th International Conference on Principles and Practices of Programming on the Java Platform: Virtual Machines, Languages, and Tools.- JTRES '16 - 14th International Workshop on Java Technologies for Real-time and Embedded Systems - A workshop for researchers working on real-time and embedded Java with the goal of identifying the challenging problems that still need to be solved in order to assure the success of real-time Java as a technology and reporting results and experience.- VMM '16 - 3rd Virtual Machine Meetup - A venue for discussing the latest research and developments in the area of managed language execution.Managed Languages & Runtimes Week '16 will be hosted by the?Faculty of Informatics?of University of Lugano (USI) from August 29 to September 2, 2016.ORGANIZING COMMITTEEGeneral Chair: ?Walter Binder - University of Lugano (USI), SwitzerlandProgram Committee Chair: Petr Tůma - Charles University, Czech RepublicOrganizing Chair: Yudi Zheng -?University of Lugano (USI), SwitzerlandPublicity Chair: Andrea Rosà - University of Lugano (USI), SwitzerlandWeb Chair: Giacomo Toffetti Carughi - University of Lugano (USI), SwitzerlandPROGRAM COMMITTEEWonsun Ahn - University of Pittsburgh, USALorenzo Bettini - University of Turin, ItalyIrene Finocchi - University of Rome La Sapienza, ItalyMichael Franz - University of California Irvine, USADavid Gregg - Trinity College Dublin, IrelandDavid Grove - IBM Research, USAApala Guha - Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, IndiaGörel Hedin - Lund University, SwedenNigel Horspool - University of Victoria, CanadaAndreas Krall - Vienna University of Technology, AustriaPrasad Kulkarni - University of Kansas, USADoug Lea - State University of New York at Oswego, USAOndrej Lhotak - University of Waterloo, CanadaDu Li - Hewlett Packard Labs, USAAnders Møller - University of Aarhus, DenmarkHanspeter Mössenböck - Johannes Kepler Universität, AustriaRei Odaira - IBM Research Austin, USAJeremy Singer - University of Glasgow, ScotlandEli Tilevich - Virginia Tech, USALaurence Tratt - King's College London, EnglandPetr Tuma - Charles University, Czech RepublicChristian Wimmer - Oracle Labs, USAJianjun Zhao - Shanghai Jiao Tong University, ChinaCONTACTSFor additional information on PPPJ ’16 do not hesitate to contact the PC Chair or visit the website http://manlang16.inf.usi.ch/pppj.
