Numerical modeling of phase transformation in multi-functional and smart materials;

experimental characterization of multi-physical behaviors of smart materials and structures;

micromechanics in heterogeneous materials; and vibration control of flexible space structures by active-material system.

Keynote speaker 2:

Associate Professor Bing Wang, School of Aerospace Engineering, Tsinghua University, China

Research area:

Fundamentals of turbulent combustion and multiphase flows;

Numerical simulation (CFD) and modern numerical schemes, such as Large eddy Simulation (LES), hybrid WENO scheme;

Energy and environment science, especially pollutant particle dispersion, cavitations triggering and bubble collapse,

as well as their interaction in multi-physics.

Keynote speaker 3:

Associate Professor Kaikai Xu, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China

Research area: Optoelectronic devices and analog CMOS IC design, especial on the subject of developing practical silicon light-emitting diodes (Si-LEDs) using conventional IC and VLSI technology
