2nd EAI International Conference on Smart Objects and Technologies for Social Good30 November - 1 December 2016, Venice, ItalyScope of the ConferenceIn GOODTECHS we are hence interested in experiences with the design, implementation, deployment, operation and evaluation of smart objects and technologies for social good. Clearly, we are not considering only the so called first world as the scenario for this evolution; we also refer to those areas where ICT is currently less widespread, hoping that it may represent a societal development opportunity rather than a source for further divide.HighlightsThe event is endorsed by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organisation devoted to the advancement of innovation in the field of ICT.All accepted papers will be submitted for publication in Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world's largest scientific libraries.In addition to the MAIN Conference Track, authors can choose to submit their contribution to the following focused Special Sessions. Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: Elsevier (EI), Thomson Scientific (ISI), Scopus, Crossref, Google Scholar, DBLP.The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work through one of the following EAI endorsed publications:Ambient SystemsPervasive Health and TechnologyThere will also be a Springer MONET special issue dedicated only to the papers submitted for conference.Paper SubmissionPapers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the conference and present the paper if accepted.
