Is Human Overpopulation a real Problem of an alarming concern or merely a Myth?

Does Overpopulation bring any benefit? What are these benefits? How about the disadvantages?

Can we ignore this phenomenon? Which could be the real solutions to be implemented to stop this scourge?

What negative directions 'Overpopulation threat' leads to [massive human rights abuses, prohibits solutions that can bring prosperity to everyone etc.]?

On the other hand, is the involvement of religion(s) in this aspect beneficial or detrimental?

Does the religious dogma support the social change's solutions needed to stop overpopulation or, on the contrary, is it braking them? For example:

Is the religious interference in the social problems an aid or merely another challenge?

In what areas of the world is overpopulation having the biggest effects and how?
