Significant advances have occurred over the last few decades in various specialities dealing with tumors involving the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. These include improvements in neurosurgical equipment, diagnostics as neuro-imaging and neuro-pathology and adjuvant therapies as radiation therapy and chemotherapy. This is coupled with improved understanding, impetus and focus on basic research in these tumors. The annual ISNOCON provides a common platform for these multi-disciplinary discussions. Renowned international and national faculties from varied clinical spectrum as neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuro-radiologists, neuro-pathologists, , radiation, medical oncologists, neuropsychologists and palliative care will present work on their clinical experience and latest advances in technology. They would be accompanied by researchers and scientists working on these heterogenous group of tumors in their cutting-edge labs, trying to understand the physiology and behaviour of these tumors better. This “comprehensive lab to clinics platform” for neuro-oncology clinicians and basic science researchers would help in evolving better strategies for improved results.The theme for this year’s conference is “Sellar and Suprasellar Tumors”, lesions with varying pathologies and a myriad of treatment approaches. Guidelines on management of “Intracranial Germ Cell tumors” will also be formulated and presented. Bhopal is a historic city founded by Raja Bhoj in the 12th century. It is famous for its heritage, cuisine, music, theatre and a relaxed pace of life. Now the capital of Madhya Pradesh, it has good connections by land and rail and reasonable air connectivity.
