The goal of this workshop is to establish a forum for discussing systems and architectures for computer assisted intervention (CAI) applications. Continuing the success of the last three years, the workshop will focus on open interfaces, interoperability, and standards. In addition, this year, we will discuss practical issues, clinical applications and future directions of CAI systems and frameworks. As in the previous years, this workshop will include strong participation from industry and academia.Topics of interest will include but are not limited to:Architectures and Frameworks for Computer Assisted InterventionsSystems integration and the digital operating roomApplications for computer assisted surgeryProgress and status of standardization efforts, such as DICOM, IHE, CANopen, ISO 11073, MD FIRE, MD ICE, IEC 80001Open issues in the standardization process, e.g. semantics, standardized descriptions of components and device communicationRegulatory and liability issues and solutions for the modularization of CAI systemsOpportunities for further integration and interoperabilityDiscussion of successes and unmet needsKeywords: Accepted papers list.
