Call For Papers - CFP
The 42nd European Microwave Conference (EuMC) is the pivotal event of the European Microwave Week 2012, offering an unparalleled perspective on the state-of-the-art in microwave technology and applications, with ramifications towards selected wireless and radar topics via dedicated common sessions with the European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC) and the European Radar Conference (EuRAD).The European Microwave Conference is the premier forum showcasing the current status and trends in the field of microwave, millimetre and sub-millimetre wave systems and technologies. The topics are ranging from fundamental electromagnetics and simulation tools, through passive/active components, antennas and propagation, up to complete systems, including the needed advanced manufacturing and measurement techniques. A special emphasis is placed on enabling technologies, such as MEMS, meta-materials, reconfigurable RF components and systems, sensor networks, cognitive radio and 4G communications. In line with the general focus of the EuMW 2012, the 42nd EuMC will feature several sessions concerning space technology and applications. Highly actual fields of research and development, such as (sub)millimetre wave systems and applications, and electromagnetic-biological interaction will be prominently present in the conference. As a novelty, the EuMC will host a focussed discussion on education and RF engineering aspects.Upon enforcing a rigorous reviewing process that accepts exclusively first rate contributions, the conference is the perfect event to keep up to date with the most recent achievements in the microwave domain. Furthermore, it offers second-to-none opportunities to network and interact with international experts from the industrial and academic environments.Conference TopicsPassive Components, Circuits and SubsystemsE1 Passive Components and CircuitsE2 Filters and MultiplexersE3 Ferroelectrics, RF MEMS and MOEMS (common topic with EuMIC)E4 Metamaterials, FSSs and Electromagnetic Bandgap StructuresE5 Interconnects and PackagingE6 Emerging TechnologiesE7 Modelling of Passive Components and CircuitsActive Devices, Circuits and SubsystemsE8 RFICs and MMICsE8 Power Amplifiers and Linearisation TechniquesE9 Low Noise Circuits and ModulesE10 Tuneable and Reconfigurable Matching Networks and Active FiltersE11 Interconnects, Packaging and Multi-chip ModulesE12 Microwave PhotonicsE13 CAD Techniques for Active Circuits and ModulesEM Field Theory and Simulation TechniquesE14 EM Field Theory and Numerical TechniquesE15 Metamaterials, FSSs and Electromagnetic Bandgap StructuresE16 Electromagnetic Interference and Signal IntegrityE17 Electromagnetic-Biological InteractionsSystems and ApplicationsE18 Transmitter and Receiver Modules, Base-Stations & Handheld TransceiversE19 High Speed, Millimetre-Wave, THz and UWB SystemsE20 Low Cost High Volume ManufacturingE21 Measurement Techniques and SystemsE22 Transport, Navigation, Security and SurveillanceE23 Industrial, Scientific and Medical ApplicationsE24 Systems Simulation and CharacterisationE25 Education and RF EngineeringAntennas and PropagationE26 Antenna systems: Theory, Modelling and Measurement (common topic with EuRAD)E27 Phased Arrays (active/passive) and related circuits and components (common topic with EuRAD)E28 Electromagnetic Scattering, Channel Measurement and PropagationE29 Smart Antennas, Digital Beam Forming and MIMOE30 Focal Plane ArraysWireless Technologies & Applications (shared sessions with EuMIC)E31 Mobile Communications (3GPP, LTE+, WiMAX etc)E32 TV Broadcasting technologies for HD & 3D eraE33 Wireless Power Transfer and Energy HarvestingE34 Wireless Multimedia TechnologiesE35 Personal Area Networks & Wireless for Healthcare and Assisted LivingE36 RFID, NFC, Zigbee and Sensor NetworksSpace Technologies and ApplicationsE37 Space-Based Systems and Remote Sensing (common topic with EuRAD)E38 Satellite Communication Technologies (Space and Ground)E39 Satellite Radionavigation TechnologiesE40 Microwave, Millimeter and Sub-mm Wave Sensors for Space ResearchConference HighlightsThe EuMC is the perfect event to keep up to date with the most recent achievements in the field of microwave technology and applications. Through its multidisciplinary and highly interactive character, it offers second-to-none opportunities to network and interact with international experts from the industrial and academic environments. Quality contributions, selected via a rigorous reviewing process, offer an unparalleled perspective on the state-of-the-art in the field. Workshops and short courses will complement the programme; proposals for workshops must be submitted to the Workshop Chair before February 17th, 2012.EuMC Microwave PrizeThe Technical Programme Committee of the EuMC and the EuMW Steering Committee will award the EuMC Microwave Prize of £5,000 to the author(s) of the best contributed paper to the 42nd European Microwave Conference. The winning paper will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Microwave & Wireless Technologies.EuMC Young Engineers PrizesThe Technical Programme Committee of the EuMC and the EuMW Steering Committee will award two EuMC Young Engineers Prizes of ?2,000 each to young engineers or researchers who have presented an outstanding paper at the European Microwave Conference. To be eligible, candidates must: (a) be under 30 years of age at date of award, (b) be the first author of the paper, (c) be the contribution presenter in an either podium or poster session. Furthermore, the first author must have a major contribution in the work reported (the respective information will be required upon paper submission). The number of co-authors of the paper is not limited. The winning papers will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Microwave & Wireless Technologies.Reduced Fees and Special GrantsReduced registration fees are offered for students as well as senior persons aged 65 years or more. The European Microwave Association (EuMA) will also provide up to 10 student grants of ? 500 each. Applications should be sent to the EuMC Secretary by June 15th, 2012. The European Microwave Association will also provide a number of grants for delegates coming from Newly Independent States, Russia and from low-income countries. The value of the grant is ?500 and entitles the grantee to free EuMC registration. Applications should be sent to the EuMC Secretary by June 15th, 2012.42nd EuMC TeamCo-sponsored byChairman:Bart Nauwelaers K.U.
