    Call For Papers - CFP

The 42nd European Microwave Conference (EuMC) is the pivotal event of the European Microwave Week 2012, offering an unparalleled perspective on the state-of-the-art in microwave technology and applications, with ramifications towards selected wireless and radar topics via dedicated common sessions with the European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC) and the European Radar Conference (EuRAD).

The European Microwave Conference is the premier forum showcasing the current status and trends in the field of microwave, millimetre and sub-millimetre wave systems and technologies. The topics are ranging from fundamental electromagnetics and simulation tools, through passive/active components, antennas and propagation, up to complete systems, including the needed advanced manufacturing and measurement techniques. A special emphasis is placed on enabling technologies, such as MEMS, meta-materials, reconfigurable RF components and systems, sensor networks, cognitive radio and 4G communications. In line with the general focus of the EuMW 2012, the 42nd EuMC will feature several sessions concerning space technology and applications. Highly actual fields of research and development, such as (sub)millimetre wave systems and applications, and electromagnetic-biological interaction will be prominently present in the conference. As a novelty, the EuMC will host a focussed discussion on education and RF engineering aspects.

Upon enforcing a rigorous reviewing process that accepts exclusively first rate contributions, the conference is the perfect event to keep up to date with the most recent achievements in the microwave domain. Furthermore, it offers second-to-none opportunities to network and interact with international experts from the industrial and academic environments.

    Conference Highlights

The EuMC is the perfect event to keep up to date with the most recent achievements in the field of microwave technology and applications. Through its multidisciplinary and highly interactive character, it offers second-to-none opportunities to network and interact with international experts from the industrial and academic environments. Quality contributions, selected via a rigorous reviewing process, offer an unparalleled perspective on the state-of-the-art in the field. Workshops and short courses will complement the programme; proposals for workshops must be submitted to the Workshop Chair before February 17th, 2012.

    EuMC Microwave Prize

The Technical Programme Committee of the EuMC and the EuMW Steering Committee will award the EuMC Microwave Prize of £5,000 to the author(s) of the best contributed paper to the 42nd European Microwave Conference. The winning paper will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Microwave & Wireless Technologies.

    EuMC Young Engineers Prizes

The Technical Programme Committee of the EuMC and the EuMW Steering Committee will award two EuMC Young Engineers Prizes of ?2,000 each to young engineers or researchers who have presented an outstanding paper at the European Microwave Conference. To be eligible, candidates must: (a) be under 30 years of age at date of award, (b) be the first author of the paper, (c) be the contribution presenter in an either podium or poster session. Furthermore, the first author must have a major contribution in the work reported (the respective information will be required upon paper submission). The number of co-authors of the paper is not limited. The winning papers will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Microwave & Wireless Technologies.

    Reduced Fees and Special Grants

Reduced registration fees are offered for students as well as senior persons aged 65 years or more. The European Microwave Association (EuMA) will also provide up to 10 student grants of ? 500 each. Applications should be sent to the EuMC Secretary by June 15th, 2012. The European Microwave Association will also provide a number of grants for delegates coming from Newly Independent States, Russia and from low-income countries. The value of the grant is ?500 and entitles the grantee to free EuMC registration. Applications should be sent to the EuMC Secretary by June 15th, 2012.
