The Adaptive Multimedia Retrieval workshop aims to bring together

researchers, practitioners and companies with focus on existing and

novel techniques into the field of multimedia retrieval. We promote the

idea of having a separate event for focusing to the specificities of the

adaptivity challenge. The goal of this workshop is therefore to

intensify the exchange of ideas, to provide an overview of current

activities in this area and to point out connections between multimedia

retrieval, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

This 10th anniversary workshop of the series is dedicated to review the

developments in the field over the last years. Hence, we welcome

especially contributions that will review recent research and current

    trends in this field.

    Topics of interest:

This yearâ??s workshop focuses on start-of-the-art and visionary

contributions in multimedia retrieval. However, we also welcome position

papers and recent work in this field. The topics are:

â?¢ Multimedia retrieval systems (text, image, audio, video & mixed-media)

â?¢ Theoretical foundations of multimedia retrieval and mining

â?¢ Intelligent multimedia data modeling, indexing & structure extraction

â?¢ Adaptive hypermedia and web based systems

    â?¢ Metadata for multimedia retrieval

    â?¢ Multimedia and multi-modal mining

â?¢ Semantic content analysis for multimedia

    â?¢ Semantic web and ontologies

    â?¢ Multimedia interaction

â?¢ Affect detection for multimedia content

â?¢ Soft computing in multimedia information retrieval

    â?¢ Adaptive query languages

â?¢ Similarity measures (especially user adaptive measures)

â?¢ User and preference modeling (including feedback models)

â?¢ Methods for adaptive data visualization and user interfaces

    Important Dates:

July 29, 2012 Deadline for abstract submission

August 12, 2012 Deadline for paper submission

    September 3, 2012 Notification of acceptance/rejection

October 3, 2012 Deadline for final paper submission

October 3, 2012 Early registration deadline

    Submissions:

Papers should have about 10 pages but must not exceed 15 pages and

should be submitted electronically in PDF format at

http://amr.dke-research.de. When preparing your submission, please

follow the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) style of Springer-

    Verlag. Please see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html for

detailed formatting instructions. After the workshop, selected papers

will be published as part of a Post- Proceedings issue with a focus on

contributions discussing the state-of-the-art and future perspectives on

    adaptivity in multimedia retrieval.
