Theme

CAAD is constantly provoking and raising many potentials, challenges and arguments in

academia, practice, and even in the theory of architecture itself. This process starts with

the pedagogy of designing and the ongoing questions such as how much of CAAD should

be incorporated in teaching, and ends with digital design technologies and the new

emerging questions such as how biologically inspired computational processes alter the

form of our architecture and the typical design process.

Architecture originates from peoples¡¯ needs and beliefs. The new forms of digital

architecture generate debates in terms of various important issues, ranging from

emotional and social factors to sustainability and global warming.

The focus area of the conference can be shaped, as follows: considering all these

potentials, challenges, and arguments, which we have to benefit from and cope with, are

there truly legitimate concerns about the future of our architecture and its content in

particular from human and environmental dimensions? Can we develop our own ways of

benefiting from the new technology that cater for our environment and culture? Can we

still see the form of architecture in the traditional way or should we change our

perspectives? In other words the conference concentrates on bridging between the new

digital forms and the traditional human content.

Submission and Languages

Two types of papers could be submitted. Long papers that describe well-developed or

completed research should be about 16 pages including the images (about 7000 words). Short

papers that describe research in progress should be about 7 pages including the images (about

3000 words). All papers (long and short) will undergo international blind reviews and should

not contain any information that may identify the author(s) and their institution(s). Abstract

submission must be in English with no more than 700 words. Full paper submission could be

either in English or Arabic (no translation provided). Submissions should be sent in Word

Document Format, using the ASCAAD paper formatting guidelines or template.

موضوع المؤتمر

التصميم المعماري بمساعدة الحاسوب- في تحفيز وخلق العديد من الإمكانيات والتحديات - CAAD يستمر مجال

والخلافات في الأوساط الأكاديمية والممارسات العملية، وحتى في الجوانب النظرية للعمارة في حد ذاتها. وتبدأ

هذه العملية مع الجانب التعليمي للتصميم المعماري وأسئلته الجارية المتعلقة به مثل ما هو القدر الذي ينبغي أن

التصميم المعماري بمساعدة الحاسوب- في التعليم، وتنتهي في جوانب تصميم التكنولوجيات - CAAD يدرج من

الرقمية الجديدة و المسائل الناشئة حديثا مثل كيفية تأثير العمليات الحسابية المستوحاة من البيولوجيا على شكل

العمارة وعملية التصميم التقليدية.

تنبع العمارة من احتياجات الشعوب ومعتقداتهم. و تولد الأشكال الجديدة من التكنولوجيا الرقمية للعمارة مناقشات

في مختلف القضايا الهامة للشعوب، بدءا من العوامل الاجتماعية والعاطفية، وانتهاء بالاستدامة والاحتباس

الحراري. ويمكن عرض مجال اهتمام و تركيز المؤتمر على النحو التالي: نظرا لكل هذه الفرص، التحديات،

والحجج التي علينا الاستفادة منها والتجاوب معها، هل هناك حقا شواغل مشروعة حول مستقبل العمارة

ومضمونها خاصة في أبعادها البشرية والبيئية؟ هل نستطيع أن نضع سبلنا الخاصة للاستفادة من التكنولوجيا التي

من شأنها الحفاظ على بيئتنا وثقافتنا؟ هل يمكن أن نستمر في النظر إلى العمارة بالطريقة التقليدية أم ينبغي أن

نغير من نظرتنا؟ وبصيغة أخرى فإن المؤتمر يركز على مد جسر بين الشكل الرقمي الجديد والمحتوى الإنساني

التقليدي.

التقديم واللغات

يمكن تقديم نوعين من الأبحاث. الأبحاث الطويلة التي تصف بحثا متطورا أو كاملا, و ينبغي أن تكون حوالي 16

صفحة بما فيها الصور (نحو 7000 كلمة). و الأبحاث القصيرة التي تصف بحثا لم يكتمل ينبغي أن تكون حوالي

7 صفحات بما فيها الصور (حوالي 3000 كلمة). جميع الأبحاث (طويلة وقصيرة) ستخضع للمعاينة الدولية.

ينبغي أن لا تحتوي هذه الأبحاث على أي من المعلومات التي يمكن أن تحدد المؤلف أو مؤسسته. لا بد من تقديم

خلاصة الورقة باللغة الإنجليزية و أن لا تزيد على 500 كلمة. أما البحث فيمكن أن يكون إما باللغة الإنجليزية أو

وذلك باستخدام إرشادات أو ،Word العربية (لا توجد خدمة الترجمة). وينبغي أن ترسل الأوراق في شكل وثيقة

Th¨¨me

CAAD est constamment provoquant et soulevant beaucoup de potentiels, de

d¨¦fis et d'arguments dans le milieu universitaire, pratique, et m¨ºme dans la

th¨¦orie d'architecture elle-m¨ºme. Ce processus commence par la p¨¦dagogie de

la conception architecturale et les perp¨¦tuelles questions concernant le taux de

CAAD que l'enseignement devrait contenir, et les limites de la conception

digitalis¨¦e, combin¨¦e avec les technologies auxquelles s¡¯ajoutent les questions

¨¦mergeantes tels que l¡¯inspiration biologique des processus automatises et son

pouvoir sur le changement de nos formes architecturales et sur le processus de

conception typique.

L'architecture provient des besoins et de la croyance des peuples. Les nouvelles

formes d'architecture num¨¦rique provoquent des discussions concernant

d¡¯importantes questions, commençant par les facteurs ¨¦motifs et sociaux, et

finissent par le d¨¦veloppement durable et le r¨¦chauffement du climat.

La conf¨¦rence se concentrera sur ce qui suis: vu tous ces potentiels; les d¨¦fis, et

les arguments, dont nous devons tirer b¨¦n¨¦fice et faire avec; y a t-il vraiment de

quoi ce soucier du future de notre architecture et de son continue et en particulier

ses dimensions humaines et environnementales.

Pouvons-nous d¨¦velopper nos propres façons de tirer b¨¦n¨¦fice de la technologie

qui couvrent notre environnement et notre culture? Pouvons-nous nous

n¨¦anmoins voir la forme architecturale de la mani¨¨re traditionnelle ou devrionsnous

changer nos perspectives ?

En d'autres termes la conf¨¦rence se consid¨¨rera comme pont reliant la nouvelle

forme digitalis¨¦e et le continu humain traditionnel.

Soumission et langues

Deux types de papiers peuvent ¨ºtre soumis. Les « articles longs » d¨¦crivant une

recherch¨¦ compl¨¦t¨¦e ou ¡°bien d¨¦velopp¨¦e¡±; ces articles peuvent contenir jusqu¡¯a

8 pages (environ 3500 mots, graphs et images compris). Les rapports succincts

qui d¨¦crivent une recherche en cours de d¨¦veloppement ne devraient pas

d¨¦passer les 6 pages (environ 2500 mots, graphs et images compris). Tous les

articles soumis seront revue anonymement par un jury international. Les articles

ne devraient contenir aucune information qui peut identifier les auteurs ou leurs

¨¦tablissements. La soumission des articles doit ¨ºtre en anglais ne d¨¦passant pas

les 500 mots. La soumission des articles complets ¨ºtre en anglais ou en arabe

(aucune traduction fournie). Les soumissions doivent ¨ºtre en Microsoft Word et

respectant le format exiger par ASCAAD.
