The Device Research Conference brings together leading scientists, researchers, and graduate students from varied disciplines in academia and industry to share their latest research and discoveries in the field. This year the 68th Device Research Conference will be held at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN from June 21 to 23, 2010. The university setting encourages frank and open technical discussion on recent breakthroughs and advances in device research. The technical program will be a mix of invited, oral, and poster presentations. In addition, the conference will offer a Short Course on Spin Physics and Devices and hold three evening rump sessions aimed at engaging the audience in a vigorous and charged discussion on the future directions of competing device technologies.
The Device Research Conference has a tradition of strong graduate student participation. This is recognized by offering student travel support and a Best Student Paper Award. Additionally, the Conference Technical Digest is published by IEEE (made available online through IEEE Xplore).
You are encouraged to regularly check the conference website, since the content will be updated every couple weeks between now and the conference to reflect the most recent additions to the list of plenary and invited speakers, special sessions, social events, and registration and housing information.
I look forward to seeing you in Notre Dame this June,
    Regards,
    Dave Gundlach
    General Chair
