Call For Papers - CFP
The Internet of Things (IoT) vision is to provide a dynamic and global network infrastructure which is characterized by intelligent and self configuring capabilities. IoT is considered as an integral part of the future Internet. It is based on interoperable communication protocols in order to enable the interaction and integration of virtual as well as physical Things such as computers, smart devices, sensors, cars, refrigerators, food packages, medicines, etc. Things can be seamlessly integrated into the information network and interaction can be made through the provision of intelligent interfaces. In not so distant future, IoT will be forcing its way into every aspect of our lives and technologies including smart homes, smart cities, environment and nature, green energy, food, medicine, automotive, aerospace and aviation, telecommunication, and so on.IoT is generally characterized by real world and small Things, limited capacity, constrained devices and the consequential issues such as less reliability, security and privacy. Cloud computing on the other hand deals mainly with virtual world and has unlimited capabilities in terms of storage and processing power. Thus cloud and IoT are the main complementary aspects of the future Internet. IoT can benefit from the unlimited capabilities and resources of cloud computing. Similarly, cloud can benefit from IoT by extending its scope to deal with real world things in a more distributed and dynamic manner. The theme of this conference is to promote the state of the art in scientific and practical research of the IoT and cloud computing. It provides a forum for bringing together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and public sector in an effort to present their research work and share research and development ideas in the area of IoT and cloud computing.CONFERENCE TRACKS:Network Design and ArchitectureIoT network design; Cloud networks; Networking technologies for data centres; Software defined networking; Network virtualization technologies; Embedded system architecture; Adaptive and cognitive networks; Wireless networks for IoT and Cloud; IoT-enabled home networks.Software Architecture and MiddlewareSoftware architecture for IoT and cloud; Inter-cloud software; Programming models; Services provisioning and management; Hybrid cloud infrastructure; Application development; Use cases and Experiences; Requirements analysis and modelling; Service integration; Middleware for cloud and IoT; knowledge management and semantics.Mobile Cloud ServicesMobile cloud and IoT services; Mobile networks and applications; Mobile cloud and IoT models; Mobility management; Mobile multimedia services; Pervasive and ubiquitous services in cloud and IoT; Mobile service architectures and frameworks.Data and Knowledge ManagementBig data; Application of NoSQL databases; Data mining; Data analytics; Storage architectures; Querying and searching; Lifecycle of Big Data management; Tools and technologies of data; Data consistency and availability; Data models, Tiny/small databases for IoT devices, Knowledge management, Rules, Semantics and Ontologies.Context-awareness and Location-awarenessContext-awareness in cloud and IoT; Location-aware services; Cloud-based context-aware IoT; Self adaptive services; Context-aware models and protocols; Context-aware services - transportation system, buildings, roads, water supply, environment, healthcare.Security, Privacy and TrustIoT and cloud security; Privacy issues; Reliability of cloud and IoT; Accountability and audit; Authentication and authorization; Cryptography; Identity theft; Data loss or leakage; Trust managementSoftware-defined NetworkingSoftware-defined Networking (SDN) support for Cloud and IoT; Network virtualization; Software defined data and storage; SDN models and architectures; QoS evaluation; SDN scalability and optimization; SDN security and privacy.Performance Evaluation and ModellingPerformance modelling in cloud and IoT; Evaluation techniques; Performance monitoring; Scheduling and application workflows; Scalability in cloud and IoT; Fault-tolerance and recovery; Capacity planning and elasticityNetworking and Communication ProtocolsTransmission protocols and algorithms; Communication protocols for datacentres; Software defined network protocols; Case studies; Energy-efficient networks; Network security and privacy; P2P and overlay networks for IoT and cloud; Measurement and simulations.IoT Services and ApplicationsArchitectures of IoT services; IoT application areas, IoT and M2M; Tools and technologies for IoT services; Business models for IoT applications; Energy optimization in IoT; Modeling and simulation of IoT applications;Smart EnvironmentSmart cloud and IoT; Smart homes and cities; Adaptive user interfaces for smart applications; Interconnection of smart devices (things); Dynamic urban communications; Indoor communications; Smart healthcare and assisted living; Smart transportation and vehicles; Smart phones apps and servicesIntelligent Systems for Cloud and Services ComputingAgent-based systems and applications; Semantic web and services; Ontological models; Intelligent resource virtualization; Knowledge management; Intelligent SLA; Quality assurance.Energy EfficiencyEnergy efficient service provisioning; Energy efficient resource utlization; Data storage and processing; Energy-efficient networking; Smart devices and tools; Energy metrics and benchmarks; Energy-aware hardware.VirtualizationArchitectures and models; Virtualization of cloud resources; Network virtualization; Cloud virtualization and IoT; Performance of virtualization; Reliability and security.Clouds at the EdgesCloud at the Edges; Distribution of data centres at network edges; Hierarchy of computing capacity and centralised clouds; IoT applications and network edges; Processing of IoT data at network edges; Optimization of data traffic and latencies.Industry TrackThis track invites papers related to industrial applications of cloud and IoT.General Track-Future IoT and Cloud ComputingThis track invites papers that fit the general theme of the Internet of Things and cloud computing.PUBLICATION:All papers accepted for this conference are planned to be published in the conference proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Service (CPS) (approval pending).
