The workshop provides an open arena for participants from academia and industry to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in modelling, specification, and analysis of distributed, communication and real-time systems. In particular, it addresses SDL, MSC, and related languages such as UML, ASN.1, TTCN, and URN.The SAM workshop originates from the use of languages and techniques for telecommunications applications, whereas MODELS has a background in the application of UML. However, UML is also used for telecommunications, and the languages standardized by ITU-T (ASN.1, SDL, TTCN, URN) are also used for other applications. The 2010 MODELS conference week is a unique opportunity to attend both of these events with overlapping domains of interest.ScopeThe sixth edition of the workshop will cover the following non-exclusive list of topics:Language profilesdomain-specific language profilesstandardization of language profilesmodular language designtool supportEvolution of development languageslanguage extensions and semanticsevaluation of languagesreal-timeperformancetool supportModel-driven developmentsystems engineering, including embedded systemsanalysis and simulation of modelsmodel transformationsreuse approachessystematic testingtool supportApplication of SDL, MSC, and related languages (e.g., UML, ASN.1, TTCN, URN)industrial usage reportsstandardization activitiesexperiences from educationdomain-specific applicability (e.g., in automotive, aerospace, telecommunication)tool supportImportant DatesPaper submission deadline: 2nd August 2010Notification to authors: 30th August 2010Poster and exhibit proposal deadline: 6th September 2010Camera-ready version due: 20th September 2010Workshop: 4th-5th October 2010Submission policySubmissions in the following categories are solicited:Full papers describing original, unpublished results (max. 16 pages in LNCS style)Short papers, describing work in progress (max. 8 pages in LNCS style)Position statements, presenting an arguable opinion about an issue (max. 4 pages in LNCS style)Posters and exhibits (submit poster and/or 400 word abstract)Important: Electronic submission in pdf-format, using EDAS, is mandatory.
