Chapter proposals are invited for an edited volume entitled Migration and Violence in the Euro-Mediterranean Region. Interested authors should send a 300-word abstract and a 200-word biography to migration.euromedgmail.com by April 10, 2018. Proposers will be notified whether their submissions are accepted for the book by May 1, 2018. For accepted proposals, full chapters are due by July 10, 2018.The plight of migrants putting their lives in peril to cross the Mediterranean Sea has shocked the Europe. Refugees as well as those migrating for better life opportunities make headline news and thematize political debates. The issue of migration brought polarization of political scene and the whole of society connected with increasing number of fake news related somehow to refugees. Thus, there is a strong need of interdisciplinary research of the issue of so-called migration crisis as well as another migration issues of the 20th and 21st century. Defined area of interest consists of European countries and countries of MENA.Our volume aims to bring together articles from humanities such as human geography, political science, history, sociology, ethnology, anthropology, religious studies, economy and international law to discuss the phenomenon of migration in Euro-Mediterranean region, in all of its complexity, focusing on its challenges, violent consequences, and potential dangers to migrants and society. Proposed areas include the representation of:• Migration, armed conflicts and terrorism• Migration and erosion, preserving or creating social identities• Transnationalism and transnational identities • Discrimination, hate crimes, Islamophobia and xenophobia• Migration and its economic aspects, welfare state and remittances• Migration and the EU • Migration and its legal aspects, border controls, citizenship and asylum policiesOnly contributions not previously published will be accepted.
