Following the 1st ICC Workshop, held in January 2008, the 2nd ICC

Winter Workshop on Complexity in Social Systems will concern the study

of social structures in communication networks, aiming to bring

together researchers to report on progress in philosophy of science,

social networks, computer networks and social simulation.

Interdisciplinary points of view concerning these domains will be

welcome.

Theoretical and application domains will concern how different types

of communication networks modeling, including Internet and

telecommunications networks, can influence social structures and

networking.

The 2009 edition of the ICC Workshop will be associated with the

Complexity Sciences Winter School

(http://idpcc.dcti.iscte.pt/ws2009/), that will occur in Lisbon

between the 5th and the 9th January, just before the workshop. Invited

speakers and participants attaining the Winter School will be invited

to present the conclusions of the school and to participate in the

workshop discussions.

* TBA - the 2009 keynote will concern Computer Networks,

specifically dynamic adaptive architectures.

The Institute for Complexity Sciences supports research in Complexity

domains, promoting knowledge in interdisciplinary subjects and

applying scientific methodologies to socially relevant problems.

PAPER FORMAT AND SUBMISSION

Short papers should have between 3 and 5 pages and should be formated

using the "ICC-WCSS AuthorKit".
