CALL FOR PAPERSINTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MOBILITY AND ITS APPLICATIONSTechnically Sponsored by IEEE/ACM (pending)To be held in conjunction with the 5th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC'09), http://iwcmc.com/21-24 June, 2009 Leipzig, GermanyWireless communication technologies have enabled many of the conveniences in our lives. Adaptation is the key to mobility. Only through alertness and prompt reactions can a mobile client offer acceptable services in spite of the many problems that plague its existence. These include unpredictable variation in network quality, wide disparity in the availability of remote services, limitations on local resources imposed by weight and size constraints, concern for battery power consumption, and lower trust and robustness resulting from exposure and motion. This workshop is intended to foster state-of-the-art research in the areas of mobility and its applications through a forum for novel results and solutions to solve various problems and challenges foreseen in the future. The topical areas covered by this workshop include but are not limited to:* Mobile/wireless network architectures* Mobile/location management in wireless networks* Mobile computing applications/systems* Energy and power management algorithms and designs for wireless networks* Routing algorithms and protocols for ad hoc mobile networks* Design and analysis of topology control algorithms for ad hoc mobile networks * Context-aware mobile services and applications* Context-aware protocols and protocol architectures for mobile networks and applications* Algorithms for mobile computing* Mobile commerce technologies and applications* Fault tolerance in mobile networks* Mobile database management* Pervasive computing and communications* Wireless communication protocols* Sensor networks and protocols* Mobility management architectures and protocols* Wireless Internet and all-IP integration* Mobile multimedia applications and architectures* QoS management for mobile networks and applications* Next-generation wireless systems* Security, trust management and privacy issues for mobile networks and applications* Human factors for mobile collaborations and interactions* Inter-working of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications* Performance modeling and analysis of wireless systems* Wireless communication experiments and trialsPAPER SUBMISSIONAuthors are invited to submit original papers: they must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors have published elsewhere or have submitted in parallel to any other conferences that have proceedings. Papers must be written in English and must be in standard IEEE conference format limited to a maximum of 6 pages. All submissions will be handled electronically through the EDAS system http://edas.info, and must be in PDF IWCMC 2009 Website http://iwcmc.com/ Paper submission http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=6827IMPORTANT DATESSubmission deadline: 20 December 2008 Acceptance notification: 25 March 2009 Author registration deadline: 15 April 2009 Camera-ready paper deadline: 15 April 2009 Conference: 21-24 June 2009CHAIRHan-Chieh ChaoDepartment of Electronic Engineering National Ilan UniversityI-Lan, Taiwan, ROCCO-CHAIRSSherali ZeadallyUniversity of the District of Columbia Washington DC, USATin-Yu WuDepartment of Electrical EngineeringTamkang UniversityTaiwan, ROCTECHNICAL PROGRAM COMMITTEE MEMBERSCarlos Bernardos, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain Eduardo Cerqueira, University of Coimbra, PortugalJ.
