ScopeAs NLP and IR continue to transform communication, knowledge access, and intelligent systems, NLPI 2026 aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and innovators to exchange ideas, explore emerging challenges, and shape the future of language centric AI. We welcome original, unpublished work that advances theory, algorithms, systems, and applications. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review, and accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings.NLPI 2026 covers a broad range of topics in NLP, IR, and AI driven language technologies. We especially encourage submissions that address modern challenges such as large language models, retrieval augmented generation, multimodal systems, and responsible AI.Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the followingCore NLP Tasks & Linguistic FoundationsTokenization, POS tagging, chunking, and shallow parsingParsing, grammatical formalisms, and syntactic analysisLexical semantics and semantic role labelingDiscourse, pragmatics, and dialogue structurePhonology, morphology, and linguistic theoryLinguistic resources, corpora, and annotation methodologiesLarge Language Models & Advanced NLPFoundation models and large language models (LLMs)Prompt engineering, fine tuning, and instruction followingHallucination detection and mitigationMultilingual, cross lingual, and low resource NLPEfficient NLP: compression, distillation, and accelerationInformation Retrieval & Search TechnologiesClassical and neural IR modelsRetrieval augmented generation (RAG)Contextual, personalized, and interactive IREvaluation of IR systems and relevance feedbackDecentralized and federated searchSocial, multimedia, and multimodal IRWeb scale search, ranking, and indexingMachine Learning for NLP & IRDeep learning architectures for NLP and IRGraph neural networks for text and knowledge graphsStatistical and knowledge based methodsRepresentation learning for text and documentsContrastive learning and self supervised methodsOnline, continual, and lifelong learningKnowledge Representation & ReasoningOntologies, taxonomies, and semantic webKnowledge graph construction and completionDecentralized knowledge representationReasoning over text, graphs, and multimodal dataHybrid neuro symbolic approachesGeneration, Summarization & Language UnderstandingText generation, paraphrasing, and entailmentAbstractive and extractive summarizationNatural language inference (NLI)Controlled, safe, and ethical text generationStyle transfer, simplification, and narrative generationDialogue, Conversational AI & SpeechDialogue systems and conversational agentsTask oriented and open domain dialogueSpoken language understanding and dialogue managementSpeech recognition, synthesis, and voice conversionMultimodal conversational AIInformation Extraction & Text MiningNamed entity recognition, relation extraction, event extractionTopic modeling, tracking, and subject indexingText mining for scientific, legal, and biomedical domainsEvent and anomaly detectionTrend analysis and large scale text analyticsSentiment, Social Media & Affective ComputingSentiment analysis and opinion miningEmotion, personality, and behavioral signal detectionNLP for social media, misinformation, and online safetyComputational social science and social network analysisMultimodal & Cross Domain NLPVision language models (VLMs)Audio text, video text, and multimodal fusionMultimodal retrieval and generationCross domain and cross modal transferMachine Translation & Multilingual TechnologiesNeural machine translation (NMT)Low resource and unsupervised MTEvaluation of MT quality and biasSpeech to speech and multimodal translationEthics, Safety & Responsible AIBias, fairness, and inclusivity in NLP and IRPrivacy preserving NLP and federated learningSafety, robustness, and adversarial attacksEthical considerations in language technologiesTransparency, explainability, and model interpretabilityVisualization, Interaction & Human Centered NLPVisualization of NLP and IR resultsHuman AI collaboration and interactive NLP toolsExplainable interfaces for search and language modelsUser centered evaluation of NLP systemsPaper SubmissionAuthors are invited to submit papers through the conference Submission System by January 18, 2026.
