Call For Papers - CFP
The Design for Manufacturing Committee of the Design Engineering Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is pleased to announce the 17th Annual Design for Manufacturing and Life Cycle (DFMLC) Conference, to be held on August 12-15, 2012 in Chicago, IL as part of the ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences. This conference brings together researchers, practitioners and educators from academia, government organizations, and industry in the design for manufacturing and the life cycle areas to share the latest results in the field and define new challenges. The ASME Design for Manufacturing and Life Cycle Conference is the main international forum for the exchange of technical and scientific information on the theory and practice of DFX and product life?cycle management (PLM) encompassing the topics listed below among others. The conference will feature tutorials, workshops, panel discussion and papers presented in lecture format and interactive sessions, in diverse areas of DFX and PLM. This conference solicits both fundamental research and industrial practice papers. Paper topics include, but are not limited to the following: Instructions As per the published publication schedule, abstracts for initial review must be submitted by 5 pm EST on Monday, February 6, 2012 using the online submission system. In addition, and only if you have submitted the abstract by the due date, you MUST also submit a full length draft paper for peer review by 5 pm EST on Monday, February 20, 2012. All papers will be reviewed and accepted manuscripts will be published in the conference proceedings on CD-ROM.DFMLC-1 Theoretical Foundations for DFMLCDFMLC-2 Thermal and Energy Manufacturing SystemsDFMLC-3 Virtual, Collaborative, and Distributed Environments for DFMLCDFMLC-4 Entertainment EngineeringDFMLC-5 Sustainable Design and ManufacturingDFMLC-6 Design for Mass Customization, Design for Service, and Design for Layered ManufacturingDFMLC-7 Design for Quality, Robust Design, and Uncertainty ManagementDFMLC-8 Design for Supply ChainDFMLC-9 Life-Cycle Decision Making (LCDM)DFMLC-10 Integrated Product and Process Development ProcessesDFMLC-11 Integrated Assembly Design and PlanningDFMLC-12 Geometry, Geometric Methods, and Algorithms in DesignDFMLC-13 Conceptual Design, Manufacturability Analysis, Manufacturing Cost Estimation, and Total Cost of OwnershipDFMLC-14 Design for Manufacturing, Life Cycle Issues, and Environmental Analysis of Emerging Technologies (e.g., Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, and Sustainable Energy Solutions)DFMLC-15 Emerging Design for X Methods (e.g., Reliability, Maintainability, and Resilience)
