    Overview

Work-life balance is a topic we hear about all the time. But we often think about it as being the employee's issue to resolve.

Thinking about as the responsibility of both the employee and the employer can shed new light on the topic.

Employers create culture, adopt policies and norms in the workplace that impact employee work-life balance, and hence their well-being. A culture of well-being in the workplace strives to reduce the conflict between work and life for employees.

Work-life balance has new meaning in a world where many employees are working from home. There are new challenges in a world where we no longer commute, or send children to school.

This session addresses the role of both the employee and the employer in creating a workplace that fosters and encourages work-life balance.

    Why you should Attend

When we hear the term 'work-life balance', there is an automatic assumption that this is the employee's responsibility.

The employee is responsible for managing their time, setting their personal priorities and making is all work. This assumption is partly true. The employer has a role in this as well.

The conflict between work and life negatively impacts employee productivity. In the long run, it can lead to unnecessary and costly turnover, impacting your organization's bottom line. For the employee, it can have physical and psychological health impact.
