IEEE Global Information Infrastructure Symposium (GIIS 2009)June 23th ~ 25th, 2009,Hammamet, Tunisiahttp://www.ieee-giis.org/New Submission deadline: 15 March 2009Scope and Overview:GIIS 2009 follows the success of GIIS 2007 (www.ieee-giis.org/GIIS2007).The scope of GIIS consists of interrelated set of technical, policy, andsocial issues implicit in the development of national and international(global) information infrastructures. GIIS aims at identifying and promotingthe exchange of knowledge on these interrelated issues and provides liaisonto bodies in the global society, technical for and international standards.GIIS 2009 will stimulate interdisciplinary conference sessions and workshopsto discuss, built and further the use of national and internationalinformation infrastructures.The conference also aims at providing a forum for the participants tobroaden professional contacts and for technical discussions and interactionson specific information infrastructure topics. Information infrastructurebrings together information processing applications, communications networksand services, physical and software elements in networks, and end systems.The program of GIIS 2009 will include invited talks, paper presentations,workshops, tutorials, panel and discussion sessions.The technical issues addressed by the conference include Interoperability atvarious levels, standard services and user interfaces, world wide naming andaddressing, and the international mobility of persons and services. Thepolicy issues addressed by the conference are those with a large technicalelement, including protection of intellectual property, privacy andsecurity, international use of encryption technology, commercial protocols,and standards vs. proprietary technologies. The cover page should indicate whether it is a research or anexperience paper. Full paper submissions must be received by March 1st 2009,and may be in Adobe Acrobat PDF. Papers must be submitted online via theGIIS 2009 website.
