The International Workshop onTechnologies and Applications for Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (TAUSN 2012)http://web.ftrai.org/tausn2012Gwangju, Korea, September 6-8, 2012In Conjunction with EMC 2012http://www.ftrai.org/emc2012Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN) is expected to support the basic infrastructure for intelligent service environments. USN’s are used to describe a network of intelligent sensors that could become ubiquitous in future. Current USN’s are able to detect and identify simple phenomena or measurements as well as complex events and situations. The technology has huge potential as it could generate applications in a wide range of civilianand military fields. For civilian applications, these include safety and security, environment and habitat monitoring, healthcare, home automation and intelligent transport systems. TAUSN 2012 will be the most comprehensive workshop focused on advances in technologies and applications for USN’s. The aim of TAUSN 2012 is promoting an open international discussion among researchers from both academia and industry about USN’s. We motivate researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge of development and their applications in USN’s.Furthermore, we expect that the workshop and its publications will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this important subject.Papers presented in the TAUSN 2012 will be published by Springer Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering(Indexed by Scopus), ISSN: 1876-1100, which will be indexed by EI & SCOPUS Compedex.
