The 6th IEEE International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems (ICESS-09)Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, May 25-27, 2009Sponsored by Zhejiang University, China and IEEE CIS Task Force onUbiquitous Computing and Intelligencehttp://www.icess.orgSubmission deadline: extended to Jan. 31, 2009INTRODUCTIONEmbedded systems are closely related to our daily life, which residefrom smart appliances to unmanned trains. As the fastest growingindustry, embedded systems will have great societal and environmentalimpacts. Therefore, the design and implementation of safe andefficient embedded software and systems have utmost importance. The 6th IEEE International Conferences on Embedded Software andSystems (ICESS'09) will come back to Hangzhou again after the sequenceof ICESS'04 in Hangzhou, China; ICESS'05 in Xi'an, China; ICESS'06 inShanghai, China; and ICESS'07 in Daegu, Korea and ICESS'08 in Chengdu,China. Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang Province. The famousChinese saying "Above is heaven, below is Hangzhou" pretty welldescribes the glamorous city of Hangzhou! With the world famous WestLake and its amazing scenery and fascinating cultural attractions,Hangzhou is indeed "Haven on Earth"!The goal of ICESS09 is to provide a forum for scientists, engineersand researchers to discuss and exchange novel ideas, results, experiences and work-in-process on all aspects of embedded softwareand systems.Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):A. Systems, Models and Algorithms.Embedded Hardware and Architectures.Embedded Software/Agent.Embedded Real-Time Systems.Power Aware Computing.Distributed Embedded Computing.Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing.Programming Language Supports.Fault Tolerant & Trusted Embedded Systems.System on Chip (SoC) and Multicore systems.Real-Time Operating Systems.Cyber-Physical Systems.Model of Physical Systems.Mobile Computing.Reconfigurable ComputingB. Authors (atleast one) of any accepted paper are requested to register and presenttheir work at the conference. Otherwise, the paper may be removed fromthe digital libraries of IEEE CS.The selected best papers, after further revisions, will be sought topublish in the special issues of Journal of Embedded Computing (JEC),International Journal of Embedded Systems (IJES), and otherSCI-indexed international journals.WORKSHOP PROPOSAL:In conjunction with the ICESS-09, several workshops/symposia will beplanned. If you would like to organize a workshop that are closelyrelated to the conference's theme, please submit a workshop proposalincluding call for paper, organizing committee, important dates, contact person, short bio of the organizers to the ICESS-09 workshopchairs before December 1, 2008.
