ABOUT ASIAN SYMPOSIUM ON

POLYMERS IN CONCRETE

Concrete-polymer composites are gaining importance in civil engineering constructions at a tremendous pace. Various topics of relevance should be discussed in an international forum of experts. The Asian Symposium on Polymers in Concrete (ASPIC) held every three years in an Asian country creates a common platform for professionals to discuss the recent developments in the field including emerging and new technologies for possible wider applications, etc.

The first ASPIC was held at Chuncheon, Korea in 1994, followed by the second, third£¬fourth and fifth in Koriyama, Japan (1997), Shanghai, China (2000), Chuncheon, Korea (2003), and Chennai, India (2006), respectively. It is hoped that the 6th ASPIC will not only concentrate on the recent contributions made in this field but also focus on successful case studies of this technology and related achievements.

AIMS AND SCOPE

The aim of this symposium is to provide an opportunity for research scientists, academicians, practising engineers in public and private sector institutions, consultants, and other engineering professionals to familiarize themselves with the recent developments in the formulations of mixtures for different applications, repair and rehabilitation methodologies related to concrete-polymer composites, and analysis and design of structural elements/ components using concrete-polymer composites.

SYMPOSIUM

The symposium will have plenary and technical sessions. A number of world-renowned experts will be invited to present keynote lectures in the plenary sessions. Contributed papers will be presented in the technical sessions. Parallel technical sessions are also likely to be held.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Authors are invited to submit full length papers of their latest scientific and technical contributions of high quality relating to the topics of the symposium to the Organizing Secretary. Full length papers will be subjected to review by the Scientific Committee, whose decisions shall be final in this regard. Only those papers which will be presented at the Symposium will be included in the proceedings volume.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language of the symposium will be English.
