2016 IEEE - International Conference on SIGNAL IMAGE TECHNOLOGY & INTERNET BASED SYSTEMS (SITIS 2016)Track Multimedia Information Retrieval and Applications (MIRA)November 27 - December 1, 2016Naples, Italyhttp://www.sitis-conf.org/The SITIS conference is dedicated to research on the technologies used to represent, share and process information in various forms, ranging from signal, image, and multimedia data to traditional structured data and semi structured data found in the web.An explosive growth can be experienced in multimedia and other social media appearing online on mobile, wearable and other devices in recent years. The Multimedia Information Retrieval and Applications (MIRA) track is based on emerging interdisciplinary multimedia research and systems dealing with conventional and big multimedia data. The track focuses on new applications and services that can analyze, retrieve, classify and annotate multimedia information even for big multimedia data as well as to help to establish semantical and contextual connections among users on the basis of the information of their interest. The topics of interest of the track include, but are not limited to:Multimedia Analysis and ProcessingMultimedia content analysisContent-based analysis for (big) multimedia dataFeature extraction and learning for (big) multimedia data representationMultimedia signal processing and analysisMultimedia search and retrievalQuery languages and query processing for multimedia retrievalImage and video indexingImage and video classificationHigh-dimensional clustering for indexingSemantics and metadata in multimedia systemsComputation Linguistics for multimedia IR Multimedia data modeling and visualizationMultimedia coding, compression, and processingFiltering, Time-Sensitive and Real-time Search Personalized Search Multimedia content analysis and event detectionJoint multimodal processing and analysisBig multimedia data analyticsMultimedia Application for Information RetrievalRetrieval and annotation of big multimedia data Multimedia networking and communicationEmergent semantics in content-based retrieval systems Multimedia activity and event understandingMobile multimedia analysis and retrievalLocation based multimedia information retrieval Object and/or context based multimedia information retrievalSemantic-based multimedia retrieval and annotationMedical multimedia information retrievalMultimedia Systems and ServicesMultimedia systems, services, architecture and implementationsDistributed multimedia systemsMobile and location aware multimedia servicesCloud-assisted multimedia systemsNovel multimedia IR InterfacesHuman computer interaction based on multimediaEntertainment, gaming and e-learning3D, Augmented and virtual realityBio-inspired multimedia processingUser Studies, Click Models, Interaction ModelsMultimedia system for traffic and public securityMultimedia database and content managementMultimedia tools (authoring, analyzing, editing, and browsing)Multimedia benchmarks, evaluation protocols and standardsMultimedia security, rights management and forensicsAdversarial multimedia IR and Spam Cross-language and Multilingual multimedia IR Medical multimedia databaseseHealthcare and telemedicineSocial, user-generated, and cloud-based multimediaCloud computing for (big) multimedia dataMultimedia sensing systemsSocial networks, social media and Crowdsourcing Submission and publicationThe conference will include keynote addresses, tutorials, and regular and workshop sessions.
