Call For Papers - CFP
OVERVIEW OF THE CONFERENCEThe main objective of the ADBIS series of conferences is to provide a forum for the dissemination of research accomplishments and to promote interaction and collaboration between the database and information system research communities from European countries and the rest of the world. The ADBIS conferences provide an international platform for the presentation of research on database theory, development of advanced DBMS technologies, and their advanced applications. The organizer of the conference is the University of Cyprus, Department of Computer Science. The conference will consist of regular sessions with technical contributions (regular papers, short papers) reviewed and selected by an international program committee, as well as of invited talks and tutorials presented by leading scientists. The official language of the conference will be English. A Doctoral consortium and different Workshops will be held in line with the main conference.IMPORTANT DATESMarch 30, 2017: Submission of papers extende to April 17, 2017May 25, 2017: Notification of acceptanceJune 15, 2017: Camera-ready papersJanuary 15, 2017:Submission of workshop proposalsJanuary 21, 2017:Workshop acceptance/rejection notificationSeptember 24, 2017: WorkshopsTOPICSData intensive sciences and databasesTheoretical foundations of databasesManagement of large scale data systemsData models and query languagesDatabase monitoring and (self-)tuningData curation, annotation, and provenanceData warehousing, OLAP, and ETL toolsIndexing, query processing and optimizationData mining and knowledge discoveryBig data storage, replication, and consistencyModeling, mining and querying user generated contentData quality and data cleansingWeb, XML and semi-structured databasesSensor databases and mobile data managementText databases and information retrievalProbabilistic databases, uncertainty and approximatequeryingTemporal and spatial databasesGraph databasesDatabases on emerging hardware architecturesDistributed data platforms, including Clouddata systems, key-value stores, and Big Data systemsInformation extraction and integrationStreaming data analysisScalable data analysis and analyticsData and information visualization; and user interfacesInformation quality and usabilityInformation system architectures and networkingBusiness process modeling and optimizationData and information flow engineering and managementContext-aware and adaptive information systemsData and information intensive servicesRequirements engineering for databases and information systemsArtificial intelligence in databases and information systemsData, information, and information systems securityInnovative platforms for data and information handlingInnovative approaches for database and information systems engineeringNovel database and information systems applicationsCONFERENCE ORGANIZATIONSteering Committee ChairLeonid Kalinichenko, Russian Academy of Science, RussiaGeneral ChairGeorge A. The list of specific topics of interest follows, with a note that it is not exhaustive and we welcome novel results addressing topics not included in the list.PAPER PUBLISHINGADBIS accepted research papers will be published in a Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science volume. Papers must not exceed 14 pages in the LNCS format. For camera-ready papers use Latex or Word style (find here http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-2-793332-0&changeHeader ). The program committee may decide to accept a submission as a short paper if it reports interesting results but does not justify publication of a full paper. ADBIS short research papers must not exceed 8 pages. The best paper authored solely by students will receive an award.PHD CONSORTIUMThe Doctoral Consortium (DC) is a forum where PhD students can present their research ideas, confront them with the scientific community, receive feedback from mentors, and tie cooperation bounds. Students will receive inspiration from their peers and will have a chance to discuss their research objectives with senior members of the community in the context of an established international conference. The DC session will take place on September 24, in parallel with the workshop sessions. Each participant will present her/his work, followed by a discussion with senior researchers.IMPORTANT DATES (CONSORTIUM)Submission: May 19, 2017Acceptance: June 30, 2017Camera-ready: July 14, 2017Doctoral consortium: September 24, 2017ORGANIZERUniversity of CyprusPUBLISHINGSpringerACADEMIC MATTERS:PROF.
