As most national and international corporation headquarters are located outside of California, there often is a gap in understanding this state’s unique, complicated, and heavily-enforced environmental regulations. This is due in part to the fact that most other states consistently follow U.S. EPA environmental regulations, whereas many California requirements predate federal regulations, or modify them to be more stringent.
