The conference is a global event bringing together researchers, innovators, engineers and practitioners to strengthen the relationship among the Agent researcher community to enhance the quality of agent research while promoting innovation.Agent and Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) technologies are emerging as a conceptual paradigm for analyzing problems and for designing systems, for dealing with complexity, distribution and interactivity, and also a new perspective on computing and intelligence. To realize this promise, further advances are required in agent models, architectures, languages, theories and design techniques. Agent and MAS technologies are currently contributing to many diverse domains including information retrieval, user interface design, robotics, electronic commerce, computer mediated collaboration, computer games, education and training, smart environments, ubiquitous computers and social simulation. The conference will have pre-conference tutorials, invited talks and paper presentations in the broad areas of Agent and MAS technologies and would provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing on agent design, modeling and engineering of Agent and MAS technologies.IAMA 2011 is being organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, India.
