    Call For Papers - CFP

2011 IEEE International Conference on Awareness Science and Technology (iCAST2011)

    Dalian, China, Sept.27-30,2011

    http://ice.dlut.edu.cn/icast2011/index.htm

The 2011 IEEE International Conference on Awareness Science and Technology (iCAST2011),

co-sponsored by IEEE SMCS, IEEE CIS, IEEE Harbin Section, IEEE Sendai Section, IEEE

Tainan Section, IEEE SMCS Japan Chapter, and Information Processing Society of Japan,

will be held in Dalian, China, on 27-30, September 2011. This conference is evolved

from the International Workshop on Aware Computing (IWAC2009) and the International

Symposium on Aware Computing (ISAC2010). It aims at providing a premier international

forum for scientists and researchers to present the state of the art of the newly

emerging field of awareness computing as well as its applications. Awareness computing

aims at developing computing systems that are themselves aware, where the word

"awareness” denotes the ability to be conscious of, feel, or perceive. It does not

necessarily mean full comprehension, yet implies vigilance in observing and alertness

in drawing inferences from what one experiences, and thus is very important for

solving many practical problems. This is an exciting and emerging interdisciplinary

area in which a wide range of theory and methodologies are being developed.
