(Co-located with the 7th International Conference on Mobile Ad-hoc andSensor Networks (MSN 2011), http://conference.bupt.edu.cn/msn11/index.htm
)Workshop on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Networks (PEWiN), as aninternational workshop, is devoted to deeper understanding in theperformance evaluation and simulation techniques ofwireless networks including mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensornetworks, vehicular ad hoc networks, underwater sensor networks, and allkinds of wireless networks. Wireless networks raisea number of interesting and undiscovered performance evaluation andsimulation issues, while traditional techniques are not sufficient toanalyze, evaluate, and simulate proposed wireless algorithms or systems inthe right way. For example, the algorithms and systems in vehicular adhoc networks require a high degree of communication reliability, shortcommunication delay, scalability, security, and privacy-preservingtechnologies under harsh condition. Researchers not only need to designpractical distributed and centralized algorithms, but also need to introducenovel theoretical models or evaluation methodologies to challenge variouskinds of research problems originated from these wireless networks. Theworkshop is intended to encourage idea sharing and cooperation amongresearchers in wireless networks, and push the theoretical and practicalresearch forward for a deeper understanding in the theoretical modeling, evaluation and analysis techniques, and simulation methods in wirelessnetworks.PEWiN-2011 is in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on MobileAd-hoc and Sensor Networks (MSN 2011) and all accepted papers will bepublished in IEEE Explore and included in EI index. All submissions must describe original research, not published or currentlyunder review for another workshop, conference, or journal. Papers must notexceed eight single-spaced, double-column pages using 10 pt size fonts on8.5’11 inch pages in IEEE style format. Papers (PDF version) must besubmitted electronically via PEWiN 2011 website.Workshop Topics (include but are not limited to the following)-Performance models for wireless networks including mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, underwater sensornetworks, and any kind of wireless networks-Simulation methods and comparisons for any kind of wireless networks-Software tools for network performance and evaluation-Case studies demonstrating the role of performance evaluation in the designof any kind of wireless networks-Quantitative analysis techniques of any kind of wireless networks-Probabilistic models for any kind of wireless networks-Traffic models for any kind of wireless networks-Mobility models for any kind of mobile wireless networks-Network performance improvement through optimization techniques-Evaluation of existing tools and techniques in wireless networks-Queuing and network information theoretic analysis-Tracing and trace analysis-Automatic performance analysisImportant dates of PEWiN-2011Full Paper Due: ( 18 August 2011)Notification of Acceptance: (18 September 2011)Final Camera-Ready Due: (7 October 2011)Workshop Dates: (16-18 December 2011)Co-ChairsKun-Ming Yu, Chung Hua University, TaiwanLei SHU, Osaka University, JapanJames Chang Wu Yu, Chung Hua University, TaiwanPublication ChairWen Ouyang, Chung Hua University, TaiwanLocal arrangement ChairHuai-Jen Liu, Chung Hua University, TaiwanProgram CommitteeZhu Chuan, Hohai University, ChinaWeiwei Fang, Beijing Jiaotong University, ChinaSong Guo, University of Aizu, JapanLuo Guilan, Dali University, ChinaFang Haiguang, Capital Normal University, ChinaGuangjie Han, Hohai University, ChinaShengming Jiang, South China University of Technology, ChinaALei Liang, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, ChinaYao-Nan Lien, National Chengchi University, TaiwanChin-Tsai Lin, Kun Shan University, TaiwanQin Liu, Tongji University, ChinaKami Makki, Lamar University, USAMi-Young Park, Pusan National University, South KoreaJoel Rodrigues, Institute of Telecommunications, University of BeiraInterior, PortugalTrung Q.
