12-14 October 2009, St. Petersburg, Russiaheld in Conjunction withInternational Conference on Ultra ModernTelecommunications (ICUMT 2009)IEEE Technical co-sponsorshipImportant dates:Paper submission deadline: June 30, 2009 (extended)Notification of acceptance: July 15, 2009Camera ready version: August 15, 2009All accepted papers will be published in IEEE ICUMT proceeding 2009, and will be indexed by EI Compendex! With the rapid advances in optical technologies, photonics are widely deployed in access, storage, backbone and grid networks to transport data at multi-terabit rates. Optical networking technologies are required to support high-speed, cost-effective, scalable, and reliable communication networks. The aim of this workshop is to bring together international researchers and engineers from both academia and industry to present and discuss the latest developments and current issues related to optical networks and communication systems. The authors are encouraged to submit original and unpublished research in the areas of (but not limited to): â?¢ Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) â?¢ Optical time-division (OTDM) â?¢ Optical code-division multiplexing (OCDM) â?¢ Optical networks design and palanning â?¢ Storage networks â?¢ Optical access, metro, and backbone networks â?¢ Optical burst switching networks (OBS) â?¢ Optical packet switching networks (OPS) â?¢ IP-optical integration, GMPLS â?¢ Protection and fast restoration â?¢ Multi-layer/multi-domain optical networks â?¢ Optical and wireless Inter-working networks â?¢ Network coding for optical networks â?¢ Network modeling and performance evaluation â?¢ Routing and wavelength assignment algorithms â?¢ Network monitoring and supervision techniques â?¢ Optical broadcast, multicast, manycast, and anycast â?¢ Traffic grooming and engineering for optical networks â?¢ Security and privacy in optical networks â?¢ Energy efficiency in optical networks â?¢ Optical switching technologies and devices â?¢ Optical network security â?¢ Optical network control and management â?¢ Optical network experiments: demonstrations, test beds and ?eld Submission Instructions:The papers should be submitted as a PDF file through EDAS system (http://edas.info/
, please remember to select ICUMT conference and track IWON2009 / ICUMT-Workshop-45, or you can submit directly via http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=7865
