Call For Papers - CFP
The Eighth IEEE PerCom International Workshop onSensor Networks and Systems for Pervasive Computing (PerSeNS 2012)http://www.ing.unipi.it/persens
in conjunction with IEEE PerCom 2012 (http://www.percom.org
)March 19-23, 2012Lugano, SwitzerlandCALL FOR PAPERSWireless sensor networks collect sensing measurements or detectspecial events, perform node-level processing, and export the combineddata from their sensing nodes to the outside world.Sensing, processing and communication are three key elements whosecombination in one small device is instrumental to pervasive computingand gives rise to countless applications. This workshop will provide a forum to exchange ideas, discusssolutions, and share experiences among researchers and professionalsfrom industry and academia.Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practicalaspects of sensor networks for pervasive computing are solicited. We particularly welcome submissions that present implementation anddeployment results. Particular topics of interest include, but are notlimited to:- Sensor-based systems and applications- Operating systems for Sensor Networks- Middleware and software tools- Networking architectures and protocols- Data gathering, aggregation and dissemination- Topology control- Power Management and energy-efficient design- Time synchronization- Location management- Sensor networks with mobile elements- Cross-layer architectures- Intelligent sensor nodes- Security and dependability issues- Modeling and performance evaluation- MeasurementsPAPER SUBMISSIONPapers should contain original material and not be previously published,or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Guidelines forpreparing and submitting the manuscript will be made available on theworkshop website. All submissions will be handled via EDAS. Acceptedpapers will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press in thecombined PerCom 2012 workshops proceedings. At least one author of eachaccepted paper must register and attend the workshop to present thepaper. Registration is to the entire event (there is no workshop-onlyregistration).Failure to present the paper at the workshop will result in the withdrawalof the paper from the Proceedings as well as from IEEE Xplore.IMPORTANT DATESPaper submission deadline: September 26, 2011Notification of acceptance: December 20, 2011Camera-ready papers due: January 27, 2012GENERAL CO-CHAIRSGiuseppe Anastasi, University of Pisa, ItalySilvia Giordano, University of Applied Sciences of SouthernSwitzerland (SUPSI), SwitzerlandPROGRAM CHAIRFrancesco Marcelloni, University of Pisa, ItalyPUBLICITY CHAIRPietro Ducange, University of Pisa, ItalyTECHNICAL PROGRAM COMMITTEETBA
