The PAM conference has in the past focused on research and practicalapplications of network measurement and analysis techniques. However thisyear PAM is broadening its scope based upon numerous trends in this area. The scope of network measurements today goes well beyond the traditionalLayer-3 and encompasses measurements in any type of networked environment--- networked applications, content distribution networks, online socialnetworks, overlay networks, and more. Measurement technology is needed atall layers of the stack: for power profiling of hardware components, at theMAC/network/transport layers, as well as up the stack for applicationprofiling and even to collect user feedback. Measurements technologies arebeing designed for the digital home, residential access networks, wirelessand mobile access, enterprise, ISP and data center networks. In recognitionof these trends, PAM is encouraging submission on a broad set of topics. Weaim to understand the role that measurement techniques can play in networkedenvironments and applications, across different layers, and how they canserve as critical building blocks for broader measurement needs. At the sametime, PAM also continues with its original goal, to expand the techniques, tools and practical uses of network measurement technology. PAM seeks tobring together both the research and operation communities, and encouragessubmission of early stage research. Original papers are invited, but notlimited to, the following topics:? Passive and Active Measurement Tools: Techniques, Design andExperience? Characterization studies of network usage and networked applications? Measurements of social networks, game networks and networkedservices at large.? Correlating measurements across multiple layers? Combining measurements from a network and end-terminals? Measurement oriented to End-user Perception and Quality ofExperience? Measurements for Security and Privacy? Distributed and Inter-domain measurements? Network and System Troubleshooting using Measurements? Metrics and measurements of resilience and dependability? Measurement technology for software-based routers? Assessing Data Center Networks and Cloud Services? Measurements in Home Networks? Measurement Visualization? Deployment and operation of Measurement Infrastructure? New Measurement Initiatives? Reassessing Previous Measurement Methodology and Results? Performance Metrics and Traffic Analysis?
