workshopHuman-Centered E-LearningA brief description of the workshop topicThe development of advanced information technologies, such as mobile devices and Web 2.0, has opened up new opportunities in the area of e-learning. A key aspect of this work has been the development of e-learning tools that can be accessed anytime and anywhere by users. As a result of such convenience, a wide range of people have begun using e-learning tools for supporting teaching and learning. Thus, it is important to ensure that such e-learning tools can accommodate diverse users’ needs. To address this issue, it is necessary to incorporate Human Centered Design (HCD) into the development of e-learning tools. This is also the purpose of this workshop. We hope that the implications of findings of each work presented in this workshop can be used to improve the development of e-learning tools so that these tools can effectively support teaching and learning for different types of users.Workshop OrganizerSherry Y.
