If the cost of any presentation has been underwritten to any extent, a clear acknowledgement stating the support, identifying the source, and describing the methods for keeping the content unbiased should be included.

Responsibility for Expenses: Presenters are responsible for session expenses (e..g., handouts) and personal expenses (e.g., travel, hotel, and meeting registration fees). All presenters must register for at least the day on which they are scheduled to present.

Responsibility for Providing Handouts: Presenters are responsible for providing handouts of their presentation (50 minimum) to presentation attendees.

Permission for Session Documentation: Presenters agree to upload an electronic version (PDF format) of their presentation and handouts via the Society’s website no later than Friday, March 30, 2012. Presenters must give permission for duplication of the presentation and handouts for inclusion in the conference documentation.

Note: Membership with the Society is not required to submit an abstract.

    Presentation Formats

The length of each session is 60 minutes total, including time allotted for questions and evaluations. While we ask that you select a preferred format, presentation format will be determined at the review panel’s discretion. For example, a panel submission may be designated as a paper presentation. Some papers may be accepted as posters.

    Formats include

*Paper Presentation ? You apply for one of two presentations in a single 60- minute session (30-minute presentation, including Q&A). Paper presentations typically include one to two presenters. Presentations are matched according to submission topic.

*Panel Presentation ? You apply for multiple presentations in a single submission topic (60-minute presentation including Q&A). Panel presentations typically include three to five presenters. One abstract submission is required for the full panel.

*Creative Workshop ? You apply for one participatory, hands-on instructional presentation in the experiential submission topic (60-minute presentation).

Poster ? You apply to submit a visual presentation, which will be on display throughout the conference.

    * All conference breakout sessions run for 60 minutes including Q&A and evaluation.

    Review Process and Criteria:

Abstracts are reviewed by a panel of volunteers. Late and incomplete abstracts will not be reviewed. Abstract review is anonymous and based on the following criteria:

Clear relevance to the integration of the arts in healthcare as related to requested submission topics

Clear statement of objectives for the presentation

Focus on specific, accurate concepts or ideas

The potential to add new knowledge or solve critical problems in the interdisciplinary fields of the arts in healthcare

If the cost of any presentation has been underwritten to any extent, a clear acknowledgment stating the support, identifying the source, and describing the methods for keeping the content unbiased should be included.

Advertising matter that in any way promotes the commercial interest of the presenter(s) or that of a particular company or enterprise may not be distributed or displayed.
