The First International Workshop on Project Management and Project Performance EvaluationMotivationWith the Three Gorges Dam, metros, high-speed trains, Shenzhou Space Shuttle v coming into our views, we witnessed a rapid development in the field of project management in these years in China. When we are proud of our great achievements we’ve made, we have to face the reality that we still find no efficient ways to improve the project performance so as to satisfy the urgent need of “low carbon” or “sustainable development”. The situation calls on us to find a new path to increase the project performance, and the worldwide financial crisis at present highlighted the demand once again. In the view of management rules and laws, evaluation is the sure method to improve every kind of management; accordingly, we hold the point that evaluating the project management performance will the answer to the problem of improving the project management efficiency.TopicsAs one part of the Fourth International Conference on Business Intelligence and Financial Engineering (BIFE 2011), The First International Workshop on Project Management and Project Performance Evaluation will create a platform for communication. The aim of this special session is to present the recent practice, studies and explorations in this field. Theoretical and practical contributions can both be submitted.
