2012 IEEE International Systems ConferenceThe 2012 IEEE International Systems Conference will be held March 19-23, 2012 at the Marriott Pinnacle Vancouver Hotel.Conference ThemeThe theme of the IEEE International Systems Conference is Engineering of Complex Systems, to include Systems-of-systems, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, and Systems Thinking.BackgroundThe IEEE Systems Council facilitates interactions among communities of interest on system-level problems and applications. System-level thinking is essential in the world today, not only for technical systems but also for society at large. The Council addresses the discipline of systems engineering, including the issues and complexities of system-level and system-of-systems applications, focusing on the total systems effectiveness of complex integrated systems of national and global significance.Conference ObjectivesThis conference seeks to create an interactive forum for the advancement of the practice of system design, development, and management, across the multiple disciplines and specialty areas associated with the engineering of systems. The conference will provide a venue for systems engineering practitioners, managers, researchers, and educators to exchange innovative concepts, ideas, applications, and lessons learned addressing.Applications-oriented topics on large-scale systems and system-of-systems in topics noted belowSystems engineering, education, standards, processes and methodologies for the system-of-systems environmentResearch opportunities and results relating to system-of-systemsWho Should AttendAs this conference addresses system-of-systems, systems engineering and systems of significant national and global impact, it will provide an informative, highly interactive and educational venue for systems engineering practitioners, managers, researchers, and educators to exchange valuable information and develop new synergies to address the complex issues and problems of complex systems and system-of-systems.Important DeadlinesAbstract deadline: October 1, 2011Acceptance Notification: November 1, 2011Final Paper Deadline: February 15, 2012Conference ChairBob Rassa, Raytheon CompanyTechnical Program ChairAlain Beaulieu, Royal Military College of Canada
