Call For Papers - CFP
The 15th International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems(NBiS-2012)http://www.takilab.org/conf/nbis/2012/Melbourne, Australia26 - 28 September 2012IMPORTANT DATESWorkshop Proposal: 31 December, 2011.Submission Deadline: 17 March 2012Authors Notification: 11 May 2012Author Registration: 31 May 2012Final Manuscript: 8 June 2012Conference Dates: 26-28 September 2012SCOPEThe International Conference on Network-Based Information Systems(NBiS) started as an International Workshop in 1998, which was held inVienna, Austria in conjunction with DEXA International Conference. From 1998, NBiS had been held successfully every year with highquality papers being presented. Since the 9th NBiS in 2006, which washeld in Krakow, Poland, NBiS has been promoted to an InternationalConference, whereby the 10th NBiS was held in Regensburg, Germany in2007 as an International Conference.NBiS is becoming a very important event for the network researchcommunity and is improved every year in both quality and quantity. TheNBiS International Conference moves around the world in allcontinents; NBIS-2009 in Indianapolis, USA, NBiS-2010 in Takayama,Japan, and NBiS-2011 at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Albania. This year NBiS-2012 will be held in Melbourne, Australia. The main objective of NBiS is to bring together researchers from bothnetwork systems and information systems with the aim of encouragingthe exchange of ideas and experience between these two communities. Itwill represent an international forum to give an overview of the mostrecent trends. In the past decade, our network infrastructures haveundergone radical changes. It has evolved from a small number ofinterconnected computer networks to a global socio-technicalinfrastructure, where people communicate and interact spontaneously incyberspace and with the cyber physical world, create content and shareknowledge over a network of heterogeneous networks. In the future, global society will increasingly rely on socio-technical networksdesigned in harmony with societal values and economic viability, withenhanced security, privacy, resilience, availability andmanageability, and the ability to incorporate as yet unforeseentechnologies, applications and services.Future networks should be available anytime and anywhere, beaccessible from any communication device, require little or nomanagement overhead, be resilient to failures and malicious attacks, and be trustworthy for all types of communication. They must be ableto evolve over time to incorporate new technologies, support newclasses of applications, and meet new requirements and challenges. They also need to accommodate growth and unforeseen changes acrossmany dimensions, including traffic load, network size and topology, physical link characteristics, different types of applications, andheterogeneity, without significant performance degradation. The conference scope ranges from home networks with numerous "smart"appliances to enterprise networks, core networks, andapplication-level networks. The NBiS-2012 seeks original contributions in all relevant areas, including but not limited to the following topics.TOPICS OF INTEREST1. Communication Networks and Protocols2. Databases and Data Mining3. Cloud, Grid and P2P Computing4. Semantic Web and Internet Applications5. Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing Applications6.
