The Journal of PervasiveTechnologyhttp://www.jopt.info
Recent advances in IT research are rapidly transforming the field. The Journal of Pervasive Technology is a forum of exchange forresearch of these future technologies, particularly appliedtechnologies in the up and coming realms of low-power, network, andsmart-grid technology. With computer science and engineeringtechnology, and mathematical theory as a foundation, the fusion oftomorrow's technologies is a much needed scholarly collaboration andthe method of future progress. This volume aims to collect new, innovative material on the theory, the design, and the practical applicability of each section. Inparticular, the Journal of Pervasive Technology composed five sectionsthat are Multimedia Processing and Communication, Low Power and HighPerformance S/W and H/W Design, Smart Grid and its Applications,Advanced Security Technologies and Applications. Topics of interestinclude (but are not limited to) the following:**ScopesSection #1: Multimedia Processing and Communication- Multimedia compression- Multimedia communications and networking- Interactive 3-D media and immersive environments- Multimedia content analysis and search- Multimedia standards and related issues- Multimiedia quality assessment- Multimedia applications and services- Multimedia security and privacy- Multimedia databases and digital librariesSection #2: Low Power and High Performance Software and HardwareDesign- Low power and high performance system-on-chip design- Low power and high performance embedded systems software- Low power and high performance embedded systems hardware- Low power and high performance real-time and cyber-physical systems- Low power and high performance pervasive computing technologies- Low power and high performance emerging technologies, systems andapplicationsSection #3: Smart Grid and Its Applications- Architectures and Models for the Smart Grid- Smart Grid Management and Service Design- Wide-Area Monitoring, Control and Protection- The Whole Picture: Sense, Communicate, Compute, Control- Communication Networks for Smart GridSection #4: Advanced Security Technologies and Applications- Key management in wireless/mobile environments- Trust establishment- Intrusion, attack, and malicious behavior detection- User and location privacy- Anonymity, prevention of traffic analysis- Vulnerability and attack modeling- Cross-layer design for security- Monitoring and surveillance- Cryptographic primitives for wireless communication- Theoretical foundations and formal methods for wireless security andprivacy- Security/privacy in mobile/wireless cloud services**Editorial*Editor-in-ChiefProfessor Ken Choi, Illinois Institute of Technology, USA*Section ChairSection #1: Multimedia Processing and Communication(Section Chair : Yuchi Tsao, Illinois Institute ofTechnology, USA)Section #2: Low Power and High Performance Software and HardwareDesign(Section Chair : Haiqing Nan, Illinois Institute ofTechnology, USA)Section #3: Smart Grid and Its Applications(Section Chair : Jeongtaek Seo, The Attached Institute ofETRI, South Korea)Section #4: Advanced Security Technologies and Applications(Section Chair : Mohamed Dafir EL KETTANI, UniversityMohammed VSouissi, Morocco)*EditorialAndrew T.
