to be held in conjunction with the AINA 2012 Conferencethat will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, March 26-29, 2012.http://www.aina-conference.org/2012/
Aims and ScopeThe goal of this workshop is to present and discuss recent advances inthe development of wireless vehicular networking technologies. Based onshort- to medium-range communication systems (vehicle-to-vehicle andvehicle-to-roadside), vehicular networks will enable vehicular safetyapplications including collision and other safety warnings as well asnon-safety applications like real-time traffic congestion and routinginformation, high-speed tolling, mobile infotainment, and many others. The creation of high-performance, highly reliable, highly scalable, and secure vehicular networks technologies, though, presents anextraordinary challenge to the wireless research community: a highdegree of communication reliability is needed under unfavorable channelconditions. Clearly, the specificity of vehicular networks in termsof mobility behavior and applications scenarios and requirements makesvehicular networks research an exciting and demanding application-and purpose-driven sub-discipline of wireless networking.Topics of InterestOriginal papers addressing applications and architecture, systemsand protocols design, development and analysis, in all areas relatedto Vehicular Networking are solicited. Papers that bring out interestingand novel ideas at an early stage are favored over highly-polishjournal-style results. Topics of interest include, but are not limitedto:- Vehicular mobile ad-hoc networks- Routing protocols for V2V communications- MAC layer technologies- Physical layer and RF level technologies- Antenna technologies- Role of V2V communications in Intelligent Transportation Systems- Safety and non-safety applications- High-speed mobility management- Radio resource management and QoS support- Roadside-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-vehicle communication- Algorithms, protocols and systems for data dissemination- Channel modeling- Modulation and coding- Power control and scalability issues- Multi-channel organization and operation- Security issues and countermeasures- Privacy issues- Network management- Simulation frameworks & real-world testbedsSubmissions and ProceedingsAuthors are invited to submit an electronic version of original, unpublished manuscripts via:http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=von12
The manuscript should be written in English and follow IEEE two-columnformat with single-spaced, ten-point font in the text. The maximummanuscript length is six (6) pages including figures and references. All submitted papers will be refereed by reviewers in terms ofcorrectness, originality, technical strength, significance and qualityof presentation. The CD proceedings will be published by IEEE ComputerSociety Press and available online through IEEE Xplore. The enhanced version of the best-quality selected papers that have beenpresented at VON 2012 may be invited for publication in the specialissue of international journals.Important Dates* Paper Submission Deadline: November 13, 2011 (12:00 GMT)* Author Notification: December 06, 2011* Camera-Ready Paper Submission: January 06, 2012* Submission of Presenter Information: January 15, 2012* Workshop: March, 2012 (day to be scheduled by AINA)CommitteeGeneral ChairMeng-Hsun Tsai, National Cheng Kung University, TaiwanProgram ChairKun-chan Lan, National Cheng Kung University, TaiwanSalil Kanhere, University of New South Wales, AustraliaPublicity ChairChien-Ming Chou, National Cheng Kung University, TaiwanChing-Fang Yang, National Cheng Kung University, TaiwanProgram Committee MembersSalil Kanhere, University of New South Wales, AustraliaZainab Zaidi, National ICT Australia, AustraliaGustavo Marfia, University of California, Los Angeles, USAKen C.
