The Southeast Asian Linguistics Society - SEALS - originally founded at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) in 1990, now holds its annual conferences in various locations in the world, alternating between Asian and non-Asian countries. The 22nd annual SEALS conference will be held 30th May - 2nd June 2012, in Agay seaside resort, situated in the Var region on the French riviera.This year's conference is co-organized by the following laboratories and institutions:Institut des Sciences Humaines et Sociales (CNRS-INSHS),Structure et Dynamique des Langues (SeDyl-CNRS),Institut Nationale des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO),Langues et Civilisation à Tradition Orale (LACITO-CNRS),Centre Asie du Sud-Est (CASE-CNRS/ EHESS),Institut de Recherche sur le Sud-Est Asiatique/Maison Asie-Pacifique - Université de Provence (IRSEA/MAP),Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD).ScopeSEALS provides a forum to share research findings at various stages or thought provoking ideas on the languages and linguistics of Southeast Asia, including Austroasiatic, Austronesian, Hmong-Mien, Tibeto-Burman and Tai-Kadai language families.
