Advances in Multimedia e-Learning TechnologiesSpecial Issue of World Wide Web JournalSubmission Deadline: 1 Feb., 2012Our AimsMultimedia technologies and networking infrastructure have changedhuman social behavior. One typical example is education. Fueled by thepopularity of the Web Wide Web, the impact of e-learning totraditional universities drives education professionals to rethinkabout how to efficiently and effectively apply multimedia technologiesto improve learning as well as self-learning. Although multimediatechnologies have already been used widely in e-learning, variousconsiderations and limitations should be carefully addressed from bothpedagogical and technological perspectives, to ensure the successfulincorporation of these technologies in e-learning.Interested TopicsThis special issue aims at collecting papers that are related to thetheme of multimedia technologies for e-learning. Papers that arerelevant, but are not limited, to the following topics will beconsidered for this special issue:Management of Multimedia Learning ObjectsMultimedia Edutainment TechnologiesMultimedia Technologies for Collaborative LearningMultimedia Technologies for Mobile/Situated LearningMultimodal Interactions for e-LearningGame-based LearningReal-Time Delivery of Multimedia InstructionsRetrieval of Multimedia Learning ObjectsServer and System Architecture for Multimedia InstructionsSubmission GuidelinesEach paper for submission should be formatted in single spacing,single column of no more than 5000 words in length.
