Call For Papers - CFP
International Workshop on Information Technologies in PhotonicsWrocław, Poland, September 9-12, 2012We are pleased to invite you to participate in the on Information Technologies in Photonics. The main purpose of the events is exchange of knowledge about modern and innovative algorithms of data acquisition and processing in photonic applications as well as about areas of co-operation between computers, information technologies and photonics.Photonics includes the generation, emission, transmission, modulation, signal processing, switching, amplification, detection and sensing of light. It covers all technical applications of light over the whole spectrum of electromagnetic radiation from gamma rays through X-rays, ultraviolet, visible range to the near-, mid- and far-infrared. Optoelectronics, which contains the application of electronic devices that emits, detects and controls light, is usually considered a sub-field of photonics. Application of computers and information technologies stimulates development of photonics and optoelectronics. It enables e.g. control of photonic measurement systems, efficient data collection and processing, analysis of light propagation as well as design of optical setups. Also photonics provides advanced tools for information technology that enables collection data from network of sensors, visualization of the information (including 3-D and virtual reality) and fast data processing. This is why the workshop will bring researchers, developers, practitioners, and users to present their latest research, results, and ideas in areas of photonics and optoelectronics.Topics:Information processing in fiber-optic sensorsInformation processing in optical measurements (e.g. interferometry, spectroscopy colorimetry)Information processing in other photonic applications.Optical imaging and mappingAdvanced visualization of informationModeling of light propagation in mediaAdvanced IT tool for optical diagnostics and imaging in biomedicineOptical computersPapers Submission and publication:Papers will be refereed and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit and relevance to the workshop.Accepted and Presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings and included in the IEEE Xplore® database. They will be also submitted for indexation in: DBLP Computer Science Bibliography, Google Scholar, Inspec, Scirus, SciVerse Scopus and Thomson Reuters - Conference Proceedings Citation IndexAuthors should submit draft papers (as Postscript, PDF of MSWord file). The total length of a paper should not exceed 8 pages (IEEE style). IEEE style templates are available here.We are planning that at least 4 submissions will be recommended to publication as extended and revised papers in high-quality, peer-revieved journals with international circulation (details to be announced later).Organizers reserve right to move accepted papers between FedCSIS events.Important DatesPaper submission: April 22, 2012Author notification: June 17, 2012Final submission and registration: July 8, 2012Conference date: September 9-12, 2012
