Important DatesPaper Due February 24, 2012Acceptance Notification April 23, 2012Camera Ready Due May 10, 2012Registration Due May 10, 2012Information and communication technology (ICT) has the great potential in tackling one of the grand challenges of the twenty-first century: how to facilitate our transition towards global sustainability, including water, air, land, food, and energy. Recent years have seen increasing efforts towards designing greener networking infrastructure by improving energy efficiency of end-hosts, data centers, and the cloud operations. However, it is equally important to re-examine the role of pervasive computing for sustainability and quantify its benefits (e.g, enable distributed/remote monitoring or control such as in Smart Grid) as well as risks (e.g., electronic waste). This conference track is seeking novel contributions on hardware/software design, network architectures, protocols and algorithms that will lead to sustainable, reliable, and energy efficient networking infrastructure, as well as novel approaches that will improve the manageability, security, and reliability of ICT as it is applied to solve global sustainability challenges.Topics of interest include (but not limited to):? Energy efficient networking processor and hardware designs? Energy efficient network design for large-scale datacenters? Energy driven traffic engineering and network management? Energy aware wired- and wireless protocols? Greening the mobile and cellular networks? Communications for sustainable cloud computing? Economics of energy aware communications? Sustainable communication practices? Low power sensor and delay tolerant networks? Manageability, security, and reliability issues for Smart Grid? Sensor networks for sustainability (e.g., monitoring of energy use in sustainable buildings)Important DatesPaper Due February 24, 2012 (FIRM)Acceptance Notification April 23, 2012Camera Ready Due May 10, 2012Registration Due May 10, 2012Submission LinksPlease note the submission guideline (http://icccn.org/icccn12/author.html
