As the inaugural workshop, BioSPAN aims to share the recent developments in the biomedical domain of broadband and wireless computing and communication. This workshop will bring together leading researchers, engineers and scientists from around the world to disseminate their work in bio-sensing, bio-signal processing, biomedical application and bio-networking technologies.Topics of interest that BioSPAN-2011 covers include but are not limited to:Bioelectronics and diagnosticsBiomedical image analysisBiosensors and biosensor networksData mining and pattern recognitions in Bio-DataValidation of Biosensors in practical environmentBio-System IntegrationSignal transduction technologyCommercial developments, manufacturing and marketsAcoustic-wave biosensorsOptical and spectral-analysis-based biosensorsAdvanced biosignal processingBiosensing applications and case studiesWireless technology for medical biology and the life sciencesBody area networks and body sensor networksAccepted papers will be published by the Conference Publishing Services (CPS) and archived in the Digital Library.Extended version of selected papers presented at BioSPAN-2011 will be considered for publication in special issues of international journals.
