In response to the global demand for research diversity, ICCE2012 will be ameta-conference with seven coherently interrelated sub-conferences for thedissemination and sharing of research in the field of Computers inEducation. The sub-conference on Technology Enhanced Language Learning(TELL) invites contributions that concern rationale, theories, pedagogies,and best practices for the use of technology as a vehicle for excellentsecond/foreign language teaching and learning. This sub-conference isdedicated to serving as a platform where sharing novel theories andinnovative practices for modern technology-mediated pedagogies in ESL/EFLsettings will be strongly encouraged and anticipated. The goals are tostimulate discussion among TELL scholars/practitioners about the benefitsand drawbacks of current practices in the pedagogical use of technology inlanguage education, and to provide insights into the feasibility oftechnology use as a delivery mode for successful language instruction in themodern era. The rapid advancement of technology has transformed our dailylives and has open many new doors for instructional designs and curriculummaterials that engage language students and improve learning. The synergyresulting from this sub-conference will result in new understandings oftrends and strategies that provide directions for future researchcollaborations, and the resulting ongoing improvement of guidance for TELLpractitioners.The scope of the TELL sub-conference includes but is not limited to thefollowing topics:?TELL theoretical foundations and perspectives?Hardware and Software technologies applicable to TELL, such as:Established and emerging TELL tools, applications, and platformsUse of multiple TELL platforms, mobile technology for TELLLanguage learning in virtual environmentsGame-based learning strategies in TELLCorpora and language learningSynchronous and/or asynchronous use of TELL?Educational psychology implications for TELL, such as:PedagogyConstructivismLearning strategies and learning stylesSelf-efficacy and learner autonomy?Content development and management for TELL, such as:Teacher professional development needsBlended learning and hybrid coursesTELL in open, distance, and flexible learning contextsTELL in informal learning environments (outside the classroom)Use of TELL in international corporations?Assessment & evaluation of TELL?Supporting less widely taught languages through TELL?Socio-cultural perspectives related to TELL, such as:Teacher and learner expectations and readiness to use TELLImproving intercultural and interdisciplinary competence through TELLGuidelines for Paper SubmissionThe maximum length is 8, 5 and 3 pages, respectively, for full papers, shortpapers and posters, and all submissions must follow the template in AuthorGuidelines of ICCE 2012 for formatting(http://www.lsl.nie.edu.sg/icce2012/author-guidelines/
