Call For Papers - CFP
2012 Workshop on Pharmaco-Informatics for Drug Discoveryin Conjunction with 2012 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM 2012)Call for PapersThe advances of genomics, proteomics, chemoinformatics, and other systems-based scientific approaches have raised expectations on novel targets for drug discovery. Similarly, advances in protein engineering sciences and medicinal chemistries raised the prospects of molecular targeted therapeutics that maximize efficacy with minimum systemic toxicity. This is in the face of high levels of R&D expenditures in both public and private sectors, and suggests that integrative approaches are needed in order to maximally exploit the rapidly expanding knowledge of potential drug and therapeutic targets. The convergence of novel druggable targets with new drug entities that can specifically modulate the activity or expression of disease-causing proteins and genes may provide a means of creating highly efficacious and specific therapies. Workshop on Pharmaco-Informatics for Drug Discovery aims to provide a forum to share comprehensive techniques and approaches for the establishment of efficient and intelligent drug discovery platform.Research topics may include but are not limited to:Informatic and experimental tools for novel target discoveryVarious pharmacological data integration and miningGeneration of integrated pharmacological databaseBiomedical text mining for drug discovery pipelineRational design of drug combinationPattern recognition and classification in translational researchProtein-protein interaction network analysis for disease
