    Call For Papers - CFP

    We are pleased to invite you to contribute papers for the 6th International Association for China Planning (IACP) Conference, June 17-19, 2012, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.

    Main Topic

    In the last three decades China has demonstrated remarkable progress in its urbanization. As a percentage of population, urbanization levels have more than doubled since 1980, and in 2011 the nation crossed an important threshold, becoming more than half urban. At the same time,China's urbanization has also undergone a qualitative transformation due to changes in governance and socio-economic structure. The resulting transition - in both the scale and substance of the nation's urbanization has brought both tremendous challenges and opportunities to China's urban planners and policy makers.

    Following the five successful international conferences on China’s urban development and planning from 2007 to 2011, the forthcoming 6th annual IACP conference will bring together planners, urban designers, scholars, and government officials from China and all over the world to exchange ideas on the theme “China’s Urbanization in Transition: Challenges and Opportunities.”

    Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

    Theoretical and historical foundations;

    Urban economics;

    Housing and community development;

    Environmental planning;

    Land use policy;

    Transportation planning;

    Urban design;

    International experience and innovations;

    Analytical methods for urban studies;

    and Regional development issues.
