Various web systems and online services provide a great deal of benefits for users recently. Interactive systems through the web are becoming more and more important for both research and business. The importance of such interactive systems in the Web has been realized in related research fields such as interactive information retrieval, interactive data mining, intelligent systems, personalization, user interface and so on. However, these interactive systems are not sufficiently "intelligent" and "smart" yet, therefore we recognize it is very important to make the interactive systems quite more intelligent and smarter by applying various techniques of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and computational intelligence. Hence we would like to hold 2012 International Workshop on Intelligent Web Interaction (IWI-2012) to gather various researchers from diverse fields such as Web systems, Artificial Intelligence, human-computer interaction and user interface, and accelerate the progress of this intelligent Web interaction.

Also we are preparing a special issue on "Intelligent Web Interaction" in Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence (JETWI), organized of selected papers from IWI-2012.
